Aeronautics is a highly innovative field of industry known for its complexity in R&D, many-faceted technological progresses, large-scale and high-demand investments in R&D and production. With challenging perspectives of further increase of air transport, it is necessary to expand research activities in a wide range of areas in order to reduce carbon dioxide and noise emissions, cut fuel consumption and optimize material inputs.
Fraunhofer IFAM is a key player contributing to cutting-edge R&D by e.g. developing surface technologies such as the riblet (sharkskin) coating system and anti-icing coatings or joint developments for higher efficiency in fiber-reinforced material production.
On this occasion of DJW "Asa no Kai", the Fraunhofer IFAM invite you to learn about most recent trends, cutting edge technologies, joint aviation projects in Germany and Japan, as well as innovation set to significantly influence the future of aviation industry.
