In 2012 Fraunhofer concluded a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on comprehensive research cooperation with the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology AIST. The contract aimes to expand cooperation in terms of concrete research projects as well as personal exchanges between individual AIST and Fraunhofer Institutes. The intensified research cooperation will contribute to the enhancement of international competitiveness and the advancement of industrial science and technology in Germany and Japan.
