Sendai / Tokyo, July 13, 2010 - Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft prolonged an agreement on cooperation signed in July 2005, for further three years. Dr. Lorenz Granrath, the representative of Fraunhofer Representative Office Japan and Ms. Emiko Okuyama, the Mayor of the city of Sendai, singed the new agreement on July 13, 2010 in the city hall of Sendai. Both parties will continue to exchange information, to promote joint research as well as to cohost the "Fraunhofer Symposium in SENDAI", which has been held every year since 2005. Furthermore, an action program is added to the agreement which stipulates e.g. that the city of Sendai will provide a coordinator who bridges between Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, local companies in Sendai region and research institutes at the universities.
