Cleanroom Suitable Materials
Fraunhofer Representative Office Japan
Certification of materials for use in cleanrooms
Fraunhofer is Europe’s largest application-oriented research organization. Fraunhofer IPA supports companies in cleanroom technology, automation, simulation, and production IT.
The Fraunhofer IPA »Ultraclean Technology and Micromanufacturing« department is an internationally renowned center of excellence in the field of production processes conducted under cleanroom conditions. It develops integrated, innovative and results-oriented solutions for tasks involving processes, equipment and production technology that relate to the industrial implementation and production of miniaturized and contamination-critical products. We support our industry partners in meeting the challenges they face in the field of production engineering.
With more than 25 years of experience and a most modern infrastructure, Fraunhofer IPA is the independent, internationally renowned test center for cleanroom certification, and certification of cleanliness as well as cleanroom suitability of process and automation equipment, components, and materials.
Furthermore we support our project partners regarding the cleanroom-suitable design, and offer workshops as well as personnel trainings.
Certification of the cleanroom suitability of

regarding particles, outgassing (AMC), ESD, biocontamination, cleanability, design (GPM/EHEDG), metabolizability, chemical resistance, microbizidity, air flow as well as surface quality.
Fraunhofer TESTED DEVICE is an internationally recognized certificate for products which have been objectively qualified based on acknowledged standards and guidelines governing their suitability for cleanroom applications. The information provided by manufacturers on the suitability of products for use in cleanroom production is often not sufficient to provide an overall assessment of the relevant characteristics, as the information is based on non-standardized or in-house testing methods.
