Exhibits

  • Online monitoring of transient corrosion processes

Test procedure using online mass spectrometry to monitor carbon support and ionomer corrosion processes in-operando on single cell level even if under transient conditions.

  • Fuel cell based range extenders development

Conception of fuel cell based range extenders or APU for customer purpose.
Selection of themost adequate fuel cell type and fuel.
Design of the system and selection of balance of plant components.
Realisation of demonstration units.ble sources (ethanol, glycerol) or fossil waste materials (ethylene glycol)

  • Alkaline direct alcohol fuel cells

Low PGM solutions for portable or back-up power offering high energy density because of liquid fuels

  • Catalyst evaluation services

Support in the selection of the wright fuel cell catalysts and MEAs for your application by thorough electrochemical testing including accelerated stress test for PEMFC, HT-PEMFC, AEMFC and PEMEL

  • Sulphur tolerant HT-PEMFC anode catalysts

Modified platinum catalyst increasing the sulphur tolernace of HT-PEMFC to >= 40 ppm in presence of >= 2 vol.-% CO.
Active conversion into SO2 avoiding electrode degrdation by sulphur deposition.

Exhibits

  • Heat exchanger - water gas shift - preferential oxidation tower

For our customer Diehl Aerosystems, a German aircraft interior supplier, we developed a reformer system that converts propylene glycol into hydrogen for a mobile fuel cell system which provides additional electrical energy for the aircraft kitchen.

  • Complete fuel processor systems

Processed fuels: Methanol, (Bio)-Ethanol, Natural Gas, LPG, Gasoline, Kerosene, Diesel, Propylene Glycol

  • Catalyst development and durability testing
Our catalyst formulations for reforming, catalytic combustion and CO clean-up, have successfully passed 1,000 hours durability tests.

About Fraunhofer ICT-IMM

Fraunhofer ICT-IMMs Decentralized and Mobile Energy Technology division focuses on the development of single components and complete fuel processing systems for conventional and regenerative fuels. Our expertise also covers catalyst development, process simulation, system design, development of cheaper fabrication techniques, reactor construction and complete system integration and testing.
